And you've covered the NFL for how long? The NFL is the only league that changes year-to-year. Would it be disappointing to be division champs at 11-5. Certainly not. C'mon Dale, you're better than that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15287012.post-90748214122843009792009-04-16T15:50:00.000-04:002009-04-16T15:50:00.000-04:00yes Dale, please explain the Russell release. I'm ...yes Dale, please explain the Russell release. I'm completely puzzled by it and almost bothered. I know Russell wasn't blowing up defenses last year, but why release him? He was the short yardage back AND the kick returner.

I guees with Parker, Moore and Mendenhall he was expendable and the organization thought it best to give him a chance to catch on with another team early? I just don't understand the logic of not keeping him in case of a camp injury.

Frank Summers becomes more of a possibility and I would bet the house on a WR or CB with kick return abilities by Round 3 now.

Russell is also what, 23, 24? He s young.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10725231979706488599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15287012.post-23860564054548084972009-04-16T14:48:00.000-04:002009-04-16T14:48:00.000-04:00I just saw that Gary Russell was released... That is an interesting situation and I don't think it will cause the Steelers to alter their draft plans, but it has to be in the back of their minds. What if we have to go to Denver for the AFCCG this year? I know that is far off, but its at least possible

An injury to Clark or Troy and our secondary has a major hole in it.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10725231979706488599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15287012.post-73536709151754759412009-04-14T23:39:00.000-04:002009-04-14T23:39:00.000-04:00It's a disappointment if they don't win 12 with th...It's a disappointment if they don't win 12 with that schedule.

The interesting part is since Indy and NE both finished second in their divisions, the Ravens have to play them and the Steelers don't.

Big difference playing Miami and Tennessee as opposed to Indy and NE.Dale Lolleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13089003781188560287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15287012.post-18386654564172368322009-04-14T21:32:00.000-04:002009-04-14T21:32:00.000-04:00All and all a nice look for a good season for the ...All and all a nice look for a good season for the Curtain...second half games will test and so will injuries, but over all I'll call 12-4...Harrison has to not mail it in after his contract and support at the corners will not hurt...Willie must remain healthy this year and consistency at fullback has to happen.

Confident yes but but how many more hits can Ben take...look at the defenses he's going to face(blindside tackle in most cases).

To quote..."Cry Havoc and let slip the dogs of war!"

Been a fan since the '70's...would like to see back to back again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15287012.post-27141244032004533932009-04-14T21:27:00.000-04:002009-04-14T21:27:00.000-04:00Lots of 1 p.m. games, different than last year. The only really tough travel on the schedule is a trip to Denver (two time zones plus high altitude). I'd be willing to bet we lose that game. Not counting the chickens before they hatch or being ignorant, but just by showing up the Steelers can go 10-6. This year is the chance to dominate and I hope Tomlin has the pedal full throttle on them from day 1 of training camp.

I truely beleive this could be a special season for the Steelers as they have not changed much and they started to play their best ball towards the end of the year and playoffs.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10725231979706488599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15287012.post-41459927436929139422009-04-14T20:07:00.000-04:002009-04-14T20:07:00.000-04:00I like this schedule
