It was a good news, bad news thing for me this week.
I was tooling around the net looking for something - anything - interesting out there in the world when I came across the mondesishouse site.
On the site there was a poll for media people in Pittsburgh and you could vote whether you approve or disapprove of that person.
The good news was that I made the list – I guess.
The bad news was that my approval rating was like 29 percent.
Then again, guys like Joe Bendel and Bob Smizik were below me, so I've got that going for me, which is nice.
Now if I could only achieve total consciousness on my deathbed, I'd be set.
Hey Dale,
ReplyDeleteI took a peek at that list and found a common theme: Each and every one of those people ahead of you(on the approval list) are pounded into the craniums of people listening, watching or reading "Pittsburgh" sports. You were the only one that would be unrecognizable to someone "DAN TAN". All those other local yocals can be seen, heard or read in westen PA. So, not to toot your horn, that is definitely an accomplishment. You are doing a mighty fine job of keeping us folk in Washington County informed of Steeler dirt. Pre-camp prediction: who gets a starting job first: Max Starks or Lawrence Timmons??? Thanks old buddy.

I grew up in Washington and now live in Florida and have the whole net to check for Steeler news. I find your blog to be the most informative and interesting. You usually present something that isn't easily found elsewhere until you put it out there. I know that a number of people on the Steeler Newsgroup regularly check out your blog too. Thanks
ReplyDeleteCaddy Shack??? Cool.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first place that I check each day for my Steelers fix... For what it's worth.
Look on the bright side--- Take your approval rating and compare it to our President's approval rating... Might make you feel better.
ReplyDeleteI agree with anonymous at 8:25am. I grew up near Washington and moved to Arizona, but your blog is the first thing I check every day for Steelers info. You are highly touted on the FootballGuys dot com message board as having reliable and insightful poop. Bring tha' love!!!
ReplyDeleteYour my most trusted source for Steeler news
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words. I do appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI know there are a number of faithful readers here as well as at Steelcityinsider.com. And I do appreciate all the support.
Like I said, that whole thing was a good-thing, bad-thing situation.
As for Timmons-Starks, I'd put my money on Timmons at this point. At the very least, he and Foote will alternate starts in the preseason games.
For whatever reason, some on the coaching staff don't seem to like Starks as much as the front office does.
I scour the web far and wide for Steelers news. I've come to learn you have a finger on the pulse of the Steelers locker room like no one else. Screw the poll, keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteDale, don't let the b@#!%&ds get you down! Keep up the good work.
