The Steelers have re-signed backup linebacker Andre Frazier to a two-year deal worth $1.375 million.
Frazier's a career backup, but has stepped in and played OK over the years when called upon. He's also a solid, if unspectacular, special teams player.
© There's still no news on any of the other free agents the team has been speaking to, including their own.
As usual, though, the Steelers are in no hurry.
I've always wondered what the dynamic is like with guys making the minimums (rookie or vet) or guys like Frazier making $600k and the guys who make millions.
ReplyDeleteDale, any insight?
Does this have any bearing on or tell us anything about them re-signing Fox?
ReplyDeleteThere really are no rifts in the Steelers' locker room. It's not like they have a high-rent and low-rent district or anything like that.
ReplyDeleteThis has no bearing on Fox. They still want him back.
Dale,
ReplyDeleteWhat are the chances do you think they get deals done with Chris Carr and Joey Galloway? Personally, I hoped that they wouldn't let Carr leave the South Side without having his name on a contract. I think he could have a big impact on this team next year as a kick returner and end up seeing a lot of time at DB, too.
Thoughts?
We don't have the space left to even sign someone of Carr's value. The Steelers will try to low ball him and tell him he will get alot of playing time in a good scheme and he will bolt for a team that actually offers him something.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see. They didn't offer either guy a contract. If they want to get something done with somebody, they'lll find a way to do it.
ReplyDeleteTypical cheap Rooneys.
ReplyDeleteDon't give me this....Cheap Rooney's CRAP. We have spent our way all the way to the cap. How much more can they spend???
ReplyDeleteNo kidding.
ReplyDeleteHow cheap were the Rooney's when they gave Big Ben $100+ million dollar contract
Rooney's aren't cheap, they are just smart and dont overpay washed up vets
I just heard a nasty rumor that the Ravens signed Chris Carr
