Kemoeatu activated

The Steelers activated guard Chris Kemoeatu on Sunday, placing defensive lineman Sunny Harris on the waived/injured list.

Kemoeatu has been on the PUP list since the opening of training camp after showing up with swelling on his knee caused by workouts to get himself ready for the season.

© Word is that James Harrison, who sat out Friday night's preseason game to rest his back, has seen some of his leg power decrease.

According to sources, Harrison used to squat over 600 pounds in the weight room. But after a pair of offseason back surgeries, he's at 365 or so.

That's not good.

IIRC, Harrison said in an interview before training camp that he had not been doing his usual training after the back surgery. It's not surprising that it might take a while to regain strength in his lower back and legs.

  2. Harrison has taken the smart recovery plan of slow and steady progress. Good for him and allows Worlids to develop and get repetitions. The bad news is that Harrison is on the downhill side of his career where inuries start to mount. Hopefully Worilds becomes the heir apparent but from what I'm hearing it's been a slow progression.

As for Sunny Harris, I hate to see the guy drop out due to injury but he's been around the league for a couple of years now and hasn't made much of an impact on the D-Line so I think the Steelers aren't going to miss a beat.

  3. U R not going 2 have 2 back surgeries & return 2 squating 600 lbs. Not realistic. And Sunny Harris has had every opportunity. Corbin Bryant played like he wants a roster spot against the Skins. Here's hoping the Steelers will get some corners one day that can play press & not give up 10-yard cushions every play.

Sounds like Harrison will not be ready to start the season, pup list?

AFAIK, PUP's not an option unless you're on it from Day 1 of training camp. It's either IR or 53-man and inactive.

  6. Tony Hills starting a game at RT? Didn't see that one coming. Like the fact that Sean Kugler is giving all of the young guys a chance. By the way, is Chris K. the only one of the OL that doesn't have 'position flexibility?' Or is it that he just doesn't have any brain flexibility since he seems to make so many mental mistakes? I think he should be made to compete for his job as well.

Dale, any word on the young CB's? I was not impressed with Keenan Lewis or Donovan Warren the other night. I do like Crezdon Butler.

The Harrison story was reported a week before camp started so why blog it now?

Dale, if Harrison happens to get hurt, would the plan be to play Timmons at OLB and have Foote or Sylvester play inside?

Dwyer seems to have that spot locked up with Clay walking out. In less than a week Baron's injured and Clay leaves

    lucky him
