Oregon running back LaMichael James
Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead
Colorado wide receiver Toney Clemons
Florida International wide receiver T.Y. Hilton
Missouri tight end Michael Egnew
Oregon tight end David Paulson
Louisiana-Lafayette tight end Ladarius Green
BYU defensive tackle Hebron Fangupo
Regina defensive tackle Akiem Hicks
Virginia defensive end Cam Johnson
Miami defensive end Olivier Vernon
Cincinnati defensive end Derek Wolfe
USC defensive linebacker Nick Perry
Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower
Alabama linebacker Jerrell Harris
California linebacker Mychal Kendricks
Wayne State defensive back Jeremy Jones
West Virginia cornerback Keith Tandy
Stanford long snapper Zach Nolan
MLB Kendricks looks like a stud. He is fast and can cover. He is a bit small so may be lost in traffic but he is strong in run support when he gets near the guy. He looks like he can stay with anyone like a strong safety. I think he is the three down LB we should try for in the second round. We don't need Hightower if he can only play 2 downs. Can he cover?
ReplyDeleteMrs Isaac Redman
With Paulson, Egnew, and Greene being brought in, it seems like the Steelers are serious about a about bringing in a move-TE.
ReplyDeleteWith Pead and James, it seems like they're in the market for a scat back to compliment Redman.
Strong interest in OLB's and ILB's as well.
When they draft two offensive skill position players in their first four picks, a lot of fans are going to be grumbling. Not me.
if jonathan martin were to slip to #24, do you think the steelers would take him?
ReplyDeleteMychal Kendricks-There are some concerns, including an injured shoulder and thumb last year and two suspensions for violating team rules.
ReplyDeletePass
I'm sure with Kendricks, that was why he was brought in. Check the injuries and sit the kid down and talk to him - see what kind of kid he is.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big Martin fan, but I do like him more than Adams at least.
10 days and counting down:
ReplyDelete1 – LB Dont’a Hightower, Alabama
2 – G Brandon Brooks, Miami of Ohio
3 - T Brandon Mosley, Auburn
4 – NT Josh Chapman, Alabama
5 - FS Trent Robinson, Michigan State
6 – CB Chris Greenwood, Albion
7 – DT/DE Akiem Hicks, Regina
7 – K Carson Wiggs, Purdue
7 – RB Michael Smith, Utah State
7 – OT, Jeff Allen, Columbia
interesting to note the number of high draft picks on defense if they take hightower.
ReplyDeletehood, hampton, heyward, woodley, timmons, worilds and polamalu all 1st or 2nd rounders.
pretty good indication of the team's priorities.
I like that draft truth.
ReplyDeleteDid I read somewhere that Kendricks isn't the sharpest tool in the shed??
I don't understand why everone is down on Hightower because he can't cover. Isn't that why we have Timmons? Don't we need a thumper in there at ILB and doesn't Hoghtower fit the bill?
ReplyDeleteHightower has grown on me. Now, there is talk that he might not be there at pick no. 24 but I believe that he will. Still, if either Kuechley or DeCastro fall to that 16 to 20 area, I think the Steelers should be thinking seriously about moving up. I'd sacrifice a pick or two for another difference maker.
ReplyDeleteDale,
ReplyDeleteHow would you order these RB's for the Steelers needs?
Doug Martin, Lamar Miller, David Wilson, LaMichael James, Isiah Pead, Chris Polk
i really like to see the steelers take James
ReplyDeleteI really think we will draft a RB higher than people would think.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like LaMichael James as a fit for us as well. Could be a more explosive version of Mewelde Moore in this offense.
I don't see the Steelers taking Martin or Miller because I don't see them using a second round pick on a back.
ReplyDeleteWilson, James, Pead and Polk can be had in the third round or later and do many of the same things.
