He didn't really want to talk about it, but James Harrison was a surprising participant at practice today for the Steelers as they got back to work following their bye.
The Steelers remain optimistic that Harrison, who hasn't played yet this season, will be ready to play against Philadelphia Sunday.
Harrison practiced for the first time since training camp began last Tuesday, but sat out again on Wednesday as he continues to try to work his way back onto the field following knee surgery in August.
Coupled with the return of Troy Polamalu, who again practiced Monday, the Steelers could be getting two key veterans back.
@ It should come as no surprise to the readers of this blog, but Rashard Mendenhall is also expected to return against the Eagles.
As I have been saying for several weeks, the Steelers were shooting for a return date of after the bye for Mendenhall, who has not played since tearing his ACL last Jan. 1.
If they play, can then the D play the whole 4th quarter without looking stupid?
ReplyDeleteIf there's a week we need for our running game to get going it will be this one so we can keep that ferocious Eagles pass rush on their heels.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for our D to take advantage of Vick staring down DeSean Jackson on every play.
As long as we keep McCoy in check I think we'll be in good shape.
Well, they didn't look stupid against the Jets.
ReplyDeleteOkay, 1 out of 3. With Polamalu they should be better. The defense is not building a good identity, this game is crucial in building that identity, especially being at home.
DeleteSteelers 34-27.
^ I guarantee the game isn't clost to being that high scoring. Weird prediction
ReplyDeletedale,
ReplyDeleteaside from a decent game against the bills where their defense gave them 4 turnovers, the jets offense has been poor. the fact the steeler's defense played well against the jets shouldn't be something to celebrate about.
this game is a tough matchup for the steelers. i don't feel they have the speed on defense to match the eagles offense.
Dale,
ReplyDeleteWhy hasn't Steve McLendon seen more playing time? He looked more disruptive in the preseason to me than Casey.
What is your take? Also, any word on Spence's surgery?
Jim
They are happy with how Hampton has been playing. McLendon has been worked in like the rest of the backups, but when the nose tackle is only out there 20 to 25 snaps per game, Hampton doesn't need a lot of breaks.
ReplyDeleteAs for Spence, I haven't heard anything.
On the good news front, David DeCastro seems to be rehabbing well.
