Plenty of starters out for tonight's Baltimore-Pittsburgh matchup.
For the Steelers, Roethlisberger, Polamalu, Gilbert and Brown are down, as are Van Dyke, Sylvester and Adrian Robinson.
On Baltimore's side, starters Jimmy Smith, Bobbie Williams and Pernell McPhee are out, as are Asa Jackson, Terrence Cody, Ramon Harewood and Deonte Thompson.
We know who is starting for the Steelers in place of their injured starters.
On the Ravens' side, it's Arthur Jones for McPhee at DE, Corey Graham in place of Smith and Jah Reid at guard in place of Williams.
The Ravens also activated CB Anthony Levine from their practice squad and he is active.

ReplyDelete10 pts was enough to win the game if not for the Wallace fumble (FG) and punt return for TD. The Wallace fumble was the turning point as it killed the momentum from the opening TD drive. No disrespect to the other injured players, but the player the Steelers missed most tonight was Antonio Brown.

ReplyDeleteWallace's lack of effort on the low throw by Leftwich is inexcusable. Also his fumble is the direct result of his (almost) NEVER catching the ball cleanly, which is why it wasn't secure when he got hit. I'll go ahead and call his not getting the other foot down a "drop" as well. At some point in the second quarter he caught a pass one yard from the first down marker, parallel to the defender, and got tackled -- one yard from the first down marker.
ReplyDeleteSoft. Fast as anyone but soft. He can fight for an extra 70 yards here and there based on pure speed, but fighting for one or two tough ones, forget it.
The D did more than enough to win. But. Zero turnovers. Again. And the offsides cost them forty seconds. (Not that it would have made a difference.)
Oh well, played with three hands tied behind their back, a QB who won't be in the league next year who injured himself tripping untouched into the endzone, and still almost beat the division winner. Lot of heart at least. Beat Cleveland, please. I think ten wins gets a wild card. Nine no way because of what the Oak & Ten losses have done to our conference record.
On TV It looked to me like Haley coached Tomlin into throwing that challenge flag.
Did Mike Wallace lose confidence in himself or did Byron give up on him after the fumble? Or both?

On TV, granted without understanding the allegedly supercomplicated maneuverings of 3-4 defensive ends (stand up and nipple joust?), Heyward looked better than Ziggy.
ReplyDelete40 seconds would have been huge. But if Mendenhall was pulling a reverse Robert Smith either way, then yeh it probably wouldn't of mattered.
