The good news for the Steelers today was that tight end Matt Spaeth, who has been out since training camp after suffering a lis franc injury, returned to practice on Thursday for the first time.
The Steelers now have 21 days from Thursday to decide whether to activate Spaeth, who was placed on injured reserve with a return designation, or place him on season-ending IR.
The bad news was that, after practicing Wednesday, LaMarr Woodley sat out today. Brett Keisel also sat out for the second day in a row and it appears that neither might be ready to play against the Browns.
Guard Ramon Foster, however, did return.
@ When asked about whether he thought Cleveland cornerback Joe Haden would shadow him all over the field this weekend, Steelers receiver Antonio Brown said, "Hopefully."
Brown should be careful what he asks for. Haden held A.J. Green to two catches for 7 yards last week and earlier this season limited Calvin Johnson to three receptions for 25 yards.
Here's the complete story: Brown hopes for Haden
haden is the real deal. being in Cleveland, I've gotten a chance to see him play a bunch. he's a top 5 CB in the league and some might say #1 overall. he's very physical, strong and also has good speed.
ReplyDeletebrown will have trouble getting space. the steelers should put him in motion and then rub him off some picks to get separation.
also, haden tries to bait the QB into coming his way. if #7 continues to use the pump fake effectively, they may get haden to bite looking for the easy pick.
I heard Robertson might be out for the browns. some say he's their best all around LB and easily their best in pass coverage. miller might have a big day over the middle.
Did anyone really expect Woodley to play this week? He's probably got at least 2 more weeks on the shelf
ReplyDeleteWell, he did practice Wednesday. Not writing him off yet.
ReplyDeleteRobertson has not practiced this week at all.
I know it would be a big change to a new position, but, in the absense of Harrison, shouldn't Woodley match-up against the opponent's best pass blocker?

This isn't basketball. He's not covering the LT to keep him from scoring.
ReplyDeleteIn football, you try to get your best pass rushers matched against the weakest blocker. Or you often try to move them around to keep them from getting doubled.
