Ben Roethlisberger said today that he apologized to Todd Haley, Mike Tomlin and Art Rooney II for comments he made following Sunday's loss that were seen by some as ripping Haley's play calling.
As stated, I didn't necessarily see it that way - certainly not some of the comments, anyway - and Roethlisberger basically said he apologized for the firestorm that was caused, adding that he was frustrated with the way he played.
@ Keenan Lewis said there was nothing that was going to keep him from playing Sunday and that he would be following A.J. Green all over the field.
He then went out and twisted his knee in practice.
Lewis, who is dealing with a hip injury, said after practice that he is OK.
@ Mike Adams, Lewis and Emmanuel Sanders were limited in practice Wednesday.
@ Rashard Mendenhall wasn't exactly in a talkative mood after practice Wednesday. He wouldn't answer questions regarding his suspension directly, but did say that everything he does is well thought out.
So we can read from that Mendenhall's decision not to show up on game day against the Chargers was a well-thought-out response to being inactive for two straight games.

Mendenhall's attitude reminds me of the talented but immature Steelers of yesteryear: Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress (phase 1), Eric Green etc... All went to other teams and had success but none ever reached their full potential for one reason or another. Only one thing was certain... The Steelers were better off after they left and it will be so with Mendenhall.
I can't believe they broke their "no contract negotiations during the season" -rule for this guy
Mendenhall thinks hes the new Ricky Williams, without the pedigree.
And/or the brains.
At least Ricky made sense (sort of).
"I put alot of thought into everything I do" - Mendenhall
Except ball security, loser.
that comment by mendenhall is all you need to hear...let him go be someone else's headache for another 2-3 yrs.
Do you really defend that as an "intelligent" decision? Well thought out? Dude left $45K on the table because he is a baby. Give me a break!!
I don't know. I don't understand the negativity toward Mendenhall. Considering the way he runs, it's got to be hard to come back from an ACL within a year. And, although he has said some unwise things, I don't see how his behavior has been a distraction to the team. I think Wallace has been far more of a distraction than Mendenhall.
i think mendenhall and wallace have both acted like idiots at some point this year.
i recall last week saying mendy knew what he was doing. It doesn't bother me he skipped the game. all these mendy is "stupid" posts are laughable. you may not agree what he says, but he isn't stupid
Is tomlin going to give brown a hat this week ? by performance last week brown should not get a hat this week.
looking forward to seeing how decastro does again this week.
lol

They haven't discussed a contract with Mendenhall. Every year, they contact impending free agents' agents and gauge the players' interest in returning. They don't open negotiations - if at all - until after the season.
And Mendenhall is far from unintelligent.
not saying he is nonintelligent, but you can certainly question is choice of words and actions as time and even consider them ignorant, idiotic, or juvenile.
lol..."unintelligent"
wait a second
just because Mendenhall puts forth a persona of "intelligence" and well thought out plans, doesn't make him intelligent.
I don't care what % 41k is of his salary, a cab to Heinz field ain't 41k (and he probably doesn't pay for the cab anyway)
thats called a sunk cost. It ain't coming back and it sure as F isn't posturing money.
Losing 41k, and your name isn't Charles Barkley, is not intelligent.
The guy is a selfish prick and I look forward to him playing him in a different uniform.
"a selfish prick" you have no idea how wrong you are
