The Pittsburgh-to-Arizona matriculation continues as former Steelers fullback Dan Kreider has signed with the Cardinals.
Kreider, the Steelers' rookie of the year in 2000 after making the team as an undrafted free agent, spent last season with the St. Louis Rams after Pittsburgh did not re-sign him.
He joins Jerame Tuman, Sean Morey, Clark Haggans as former Steelers the Cardinals have signed.
You forgot Bryant Mcfadden. :-P
ReplyDelete...and St. Pierre.
ReplyDeleteOh and previously Chukky Okobi...lol geesh and they took offence to the name Steelers West. I wounder if Wiz understands that if you just take someones throw aways you will never beat them. Unless he thinks he is a much better coach than Tomlin. And GM than Colbert.
ReplyDeleteI thought Kreider had nothing left. Was he just injured last year? DIdn't the Rams cut him?
ReplyDeleteI know we cut him in part to go a slightly different direction with FB but why would the Rams w/ all their needs not keep him if he was still a player?
He has about as much left as Clark Haggans and Jerame Tuman. Is it just me, or is Whis looking a bit pathetic? I know Coach T went a similar route when he signed Moore, but he's made it clear that the Steelers are very much his team.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that Whisenhunt is exceptionally bad at evaluating talent? Could he just want some veterans in the locker room with whom he is comfortable? Either way, it just makes it look like he can't field his own team.
Geez, everyone here is so bitter. Did Whis do anything wrong by getting a promotion? All of those guys are good, solid players that were beneficial to the Steelers (except for backups Okobi and St. Pierre). And Kreider was the most dominant lead blocker in the NFL every year until he got injured and Arians and Tomlin decided Carey Davis would be more valuable (in my opinion, Tomlin's only big mistake). The only thing I see going on with Arizona is a team trying to find good players at a good price, and I think they are getting them. Nothing wrong with that. I for one wish Kreider was still a Steeler, but I wish him the very best in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteI didn't forget those guys. I said including those people. Whis is bringing those guys in to teach the Cards about winning.
ReplyDeleteFor the first time since I remember we now have a team that will directly try and suck talent away from us. Lets see how much AZ tries to take next year with all the FA's we have?
ReplyDeleteWith the exception of MacFadden, which of these former Steelers served any purpose on any of their good seasons?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dale that he wants to teach about winning, but you cant teach that if you are running a car wash (Okobi) or sitting on the bench. Hey listen to me! I used to start. We can build on this!
The Whiz should probably worry about signing guys that can play.
Morey was a contributor for them last year as a special teams ace - which is what he is.
