An interesting look at the top 150

As I said before, I look at rankings and mock drafts from all over the internet in the - months at least this year - leading up to the draft.

Many are nearly identical in their rankings, almost as if somebody puts out a list early and then others copy it.

But here's an interesting look at the top 150 prospects in this year's draft from Rotoworld.

Rotoworld's top 150

It has some different players in the mix to be selected in the first couple of rounds and is worth a look.

    Dale,

What is the latest rollcall for Steeler prospect visits?

    Thanks!

After watching his combine and pro day workout, having Bridgewater at number one disqualifies this ranking as being a legitimate one. If he was in the 2004 draft he could have gone undrafted or possibly taken in the sixth or seventh round as a developmental QB.

In my opinion, despite the attempt by some in the sports to position Bridgewater as being a legitimate first round pick I see no convincing evidence to compell me to think that he will ever be a franchise QB that an organization would build their offense around. I can see Bridgewater having a career in the NFL, as a journeyman back up.

  4. @Anonymous: Did you bother to read the article?

For Bridgewater, the 2014 draft projection says: "Could fall to the second-round."

I think the list might contain who the top 150 players are, but to say that this has ANY KIND of real order would be wrong.

  6. Despite the April 26 date at the top of the page, it seems a lot of the writing and possibly some of the slotting was done before the combine. If you read the blurb on Hageman it says "I believe he will test well at the combine" (he didn't).

I read several of the assessments, they seem all right. I think it is interesting if they put most of it together pre-combine and haven't changed it much that it might shine a light on how much the pretty meaningless combine and pro days mean to us as fans.

  7. Remember, Charlie Casserly said people should not pay attention to mock drafts until about a week out from draft day. We're almost there:

    1 – CB K. Fuller, Va. Tech
    2 – DT, S. Truitt, Notre Dame
    3 – WR D. Moncrief, Mississippi
    3 – OLB J. Attaochu, Ga. Tech
    4 – OT A. Richardson, Tennessee
    5 – ILB, J. Zumalt, UCLA
    5 – CB W. Aikens, Liberty
    6 – WR J. Brown, Pittsburgh State
    6 – OLB L. Webster, Bloomsburg
    6 – TE C. Gilmore, Colorado State
    7 – NT R. Carrethers, Arkansas State

(Steelers pick up extra 3rd & 6th rd picks for trade down in 1st round)

    dale,
i saw this morning that, reportedly, antonio brown is dumping drew rosenhaus as his agent. i have always wondered how he is perceived by players and coaches. do you have any insight in that area? thanks.

  9. Rosenhaus? The Steelers don't have a problem with him.

Timing is odd. Unusual for a player to dump his agent with years left on a fairly new deal.

I would guess the top two reasons for dumping an agent at this time would either be the player feels like he's getting ripped off by the agent, or he's now unhappy with his contract. Hope it's not the latter, since he's signed thru 2017. Timmons is also repped by Rosenhaus. Wonder if Rosenhaus found a clever way around the 2% commission cap, knowing Colbert's penchant for restructures, perhaps charging his client exorbitant service fees for those perennial transactions. Dunno. Just a wild guess.
