Bryant McFadden is a healthy scratch tonight. Also down are Dwyer, Meredith, Chris Scott, Cotchery and Keisel.
Six starters, including Manning out for the Colts.
Mike Pollak starts at RG for Ryan Diem; Eric Foster – all 265 pounds of him - at DT for Flil Moala; Pat Angerer at MLB for Gary Brackett; Phillip Wheeler at SLB for Ernie Sims; David Caldwell at SS for Melvin Bullitt.
That's four starters right up the middle of the defense.

I'm winning by 2 points in my fantasy match up after today's games.
I have Mendy and my opponent has Witten tomorrow night.
That's it. We better blow the doors off this defense with all those starters out in the middle.
But no, we'll make Angerer and the other scrubs look like competent NFL players and ppl will blame it on Pouncey not being 100%.
They're going to run to daylight today.
........
This is pathetic.
This oline may be as bad as 08's.
OL looks like crap. way to let the colts stay in the game.
hey dale, how about that high octane offense you keep spouting about? let me know when they show up.
Wofley was praising BA for running the defense side-to-side, but how about out bigger OL just engage their smaller DL and push them backwards?
A please, stop with the bubble screens because the offense can't run them today just like they haven't been able to run them any time in the past 50 years.
I'm not blaming the OL, they've given BR plenty of time for the most part. They don't run well because the qb and OC don't care about running the ball or balance. All they want to do is throw long developing downfield passes. As long as BR and BA are a team the offense will never be very effective.
adamg,
have to disagee here. OL is missing blocks left and right or just flat out getting pushed backwards. very poor game for them, so far.
I'm starting to forget what forcing a turnover on D feels like.
Hopefully the Finger Painter can help us out bc we just caught a break that Collins won't be able to come in.
How embarrassing that we need that.
come on FG, I had this game at 23-13 (its 20-13 now after the Steelers D td fyi)
but seriously, this game was pathetic. Manning would have put this miserable game to death 2 quarters ago.
Get Aaron Smith out of the game NOW!!!
What a mess! Our team is going to get eaten alive by the Texans, Patriots, Ravens and other decent teams.
Anyone remember an uglier win?? I can't
the wins against Buffalo and Miami last year were pretty ugly.
Maybe not this bad, but theres been a few and those come immediately to mind.
What a bunch of spoiled fans on this site. The Steelers won, just like they've been winning for the last 20 years.
yes, the offensive tackles stink.
I hate to say this but for the good of the team Aaron Smith needs to be off the field. If he has some sort of strength issue due to whatever tear he's recovering from this time, they should have put him on PUP and let him work at it. He looks like a shell of a shell of a shell of himself.
I'll take the win but things don't look so promising.
The offensive line is not bad because of the injuries. They were bad before the injuries, most of which happened in the second half. And Willie Colon would not have done a better job than Marcus Gilbert did tonight.
Ben CANNOT take sacks in field goal range in tie games in the fourth quarter. (I know this is like a Packer fan hoping Brett Favre would quit throwing ridiculous interceptions but I can dream. Well, at least he won the game for us while simultaneously nearly losing it.)
Time to bring Flozelle Adams back... come to think of it, maybe Max Starks too. They might be slow but at least they're big enough to get a push on a running play.
I know #56 has a history of slow starts & gets his sacks in bunches, but even considering that...what is going on?
Well, a win is a win. I'll never understand the prevent defense, but...
Deebo and Troy made a great play on the sack/fumble, TD and Troy nearly got that handoff instead of Addai.
Felt the OL stepped up on the final FG drive. MeMo did his thing on the 3rd down pass/run. Pouncey, Kemo and Foster all did a good job moving their men out during the last drive allowing Moore and Redman to gain critical yards.
I wish the Steelers had
more run plays that started closer to the line so the OL could trap block and spring the backs. The old pro set would be a nice change of pace.
Thought Gilbert had a very good game. The sack fumble was more a result of him driving his man back and around as most qbs but BR would step up instead of back and outside.
A game like this was a real trap as I'm sure Indy was desperate not to fall to 0-3.
Woodley has been a colossal disappointment post big contract.
He's one of my favorite players and I have his jersey, but he was completely MIA against a tackle I've never heard of with minimal starting experience.
marc, on some of the runs, the blocks were there, but Mendy didn't have the best game picking his holes. The 70s Steelers would have trapped the Colts DL left and right, but the modern offenses aren't designed to do that.
I do think the OL isn't getting good push in the run game, but I see that as a result of the pass-first mentality that just doesn't set the aggressive mindset needed for a successful running game.
Couple other observations... Heath Miller was whiffing on those screen blocks. If he'd have made a couple blocks, those plays might have gone for a lot. Liked what I saw of Wes Saunders. He could be a real threat and load for any secondary to handle.
