PS set

The Steelers signed eight players to their practice squad today in
addition to a ninth player who will remain with the team throughout the 2008 season
as part of the NFL's international player development program.

Each of the eight players added to the Steelers' practice squad were in training
camp with the team this summer. All NFL teams were able to sign a maximum of eight
players to their practice squad beginning at noon today.

The players signed by the Steelers include: LB Patrick Bailey, CB Roy Lewis, S Grant
Mason, OT Jeremy Parquet, DT Scott Paxson, WR Micah Rucker, TE Dezmond Sherrod and
RB Justin Vincent.

Wide receiver Marvin Allen was also designated to the team's practice squad as a
part of the NFL's international player development program.

Not a bad lot. I'm a bit surprised they'd take another OL as they are already carrying 10 on the 53 man.

Dale, do you think that they will add Humpal and Mundy to the practice squad when they are healthy and then release two of these guys?

Dale Lolley said...

I think they'll try to bring Humpal and Mundy back.
They need a extra offensive lineman to help get through practice. You get one dinged up or want to give Marvel a veteran's day off and you're short. They always like to carry one on the PS.

I am glad Rucker made it, I think he has a lot of potential and he showed some good things this pre season

Have they given up on McBean?

Dale, any word on whether any of the recent cuts, like McBean or Willie Reid, are in discussions to sign with other teams?

Dale Lolley said...

I don't have any idea if those guys are talking to other teams.

I would think Reid would get a look from Cincinnati, but Willie Uno Cinco doesn't have a great ring to it.

Willie Reid was signed to Philly's practice squad.

Reid to Philly's practice squad. McBean to Denver's PS.
