It's a beautiful day here at Reliant Stadium. The roof is closed and it's nice and cool inside the building.
© The Steelers inactives are Dixon, McFadden, Dwyer, Chris Carter, Legursky Jonathan Scott and Keisel.
For Houston, starting corner Kareem Jackson is out. Jason Allen will start in his place.
© McFadden is a healthy scratch for the second consecutive week. He's ready to play, but the coaching staff is happy with the way the pass defense has performed.
© All teams are now required to have two offensive linemen wear microphones in order to hear if the opponent is simulating the snap count.
Maurkice Pouncey will be one of the linemen for the Steelers wearing a mic.

Amazing informative news. Keep it coming, I'm on the edge of my seat
No problem. You're more than welcome to start your own blog. I'm sure it will have plenty of information,
Dale, you blog is appreciated by those of us who have a brain! Thank you for keeping us up to date.
Really, McFadden is healthy?
is a release incoming? Wouldn't surprise me if the rookies step up
They're not going to release him since they are on the hook for his salary at this point anyway. But they do like what they've seen of the kids.
In fact, I was told that Gay and Lewis are keeping the spots warm until the kids are ready to go.
The "Kids" have some serious talent. This old defense is about to get a lot younger! Brown, Allen, Hood, Hayward, and Sylvester are all going to be starters on this team at some point, maybe not this year.
another who appreciates the blog.
two weeks in a row with roofs closed....nice stadiums, i'm just not a fan of indoor stadiums though.
hoping the offense can show some rythm and head in the right direction
Farrior and Foote are embarassments to the Steelers. They do not belong on the field at all
11 minute drive is a hell of a thing to see, except when it's the other team doing it.
we all know the o-line has a lack of talent but they keep calling the same plays, move ben out of the pocket. this offense isn't going to score enough points each week relying on the big play.
and wallace running his mouth was stupid. but this is what tomlin has allowed....huge lack of discipline
Wow. That was a tense moment with Johnson. Texans players and fans were picturing their season being altered out of nowhere. Now the question is will he come back. Or will it matter?
can't really blame ben for being scared back there, but he leads wallace and it's six, totally missed brown too.
pouncey and another stupid penalty(lack of discipline) and we don't score. only down ten, but it's a beat down in that first half.
That stupid penalty on the Texans was huge. That was also one of the dumbest penalties I have ever seen.
breaking news: the Steelers have a sweep play in their playbook.
Details to follow.
we're not getting the game in philly, can anyone give me an injury update on Harrison?
Awful, just so, so awful. We legit have NO OLine.
A couple of stupid Houston penalties away from being a complete blowout (not to mention A. Johnson going down -- hope he's not done for the season, what a player).
Anyway, the 2011 Steelers are an average-at-best team -- UNLESS there is drastic change in the way these players play (no one's coming to the rescue).
Again, we knew the offensive line stunk. Hell, the PLAN for the season is Jonathan Scott and Doug Legursky starting. No way they play "better" than Essex & Foster today.
What's scarier is how bad the defense is. They look like they're trying to prove Warren Sapp right. I know Aaron Smith made a couple of plays and he's a great guy, but he was abused most of the afternoon. Again. As was Woodley, Farrior, Foote. Etc. The whole defense looks flat (the offense is impossible to evaluate b/c the OL is so bad).
7-9?
Earth to Ben: Your O-line sucks please learn to get rid of the ball quicker. I don't care if you throw it away.
O-Line is a huge problem. And to make things worse Tomlin is too stubborn to bring in some new blood. It may be too late now..
No one should be surprised. Without a competent o-line no team will ever go anywhere. Add on to that a d-line on the decline and the steeler's will lose to the better teams. Look for them to be 9-7 this season on a weak schedule.
Yep, it will be a long and painful season. I still believe Mendenhall is afraid of simply attacking the hole, he prefers to dance and shake and thus get tackled behind the line. Redman did a pretty good job.
