Just got to Cleveland

The wind is bitterly cold here and heavy, both of which should affect this game a great deal.

But I already expected that.

But this wind is whipping and colder than I even imagined it would be.

© After testing his sore hamstring, it appears that Hines Ward will play for the Steelers.

I think this is a big mistake - especially considering the weather. There isn't likely to be at lot of passing in this game and the cold weather could cause that hamstring to lock up.

HAHAHAHAHAHA I got the first Comment. HAHAHAHAHAAHAA Patrick's an idiot for saying Bruce Arians should be coach. HAHAAHAHA He needs to be fired actually and then we'll be good. Right Patrick

dude Colon, you might to consider doing something better with your time. Pathetic.

Apparently Hines is playing tonight. Props to him for fighting through, especially considring the bs of 2 weeks ago.

one more thing.

click on my name to read my blog piece about how the Steelers' collapse was part of a conspiracy. I know conspiracy theories are old, but you should check it out. It isn't totally wacko.

Patrick, really, those who live in glass houses should not cast stones.

How much do you think BB's "Hines will do what's best for Hines" comment influenced Ward's decision to come back early? I'd bet alot, given the previous circumstances...

I agree with you Dale, big, unnecessary mistake. Could this be Ward trying to prove a point about toughness? Hint that all is not well in our locker room after all? Hope it doesn't end up costing us later..

Call me crazy, but despite the weather, despite their suckiness, Steelers win big tonight. By 21+ points.

Could the Steelers just lose to put us out of our misery please?

There's nobody in this stadium.

Ok so why are both Gay and Taylor starting? They've both looked horrible the last 4 games. Shouldn't there have been changes? I mean Lewis isn't even active for this game.

Dale, what is the record for most sacks taken in a game, again?

Unbelievable, if the Steelers were the Jets, Chiefs, etc., Tomlin would be fired after this game. Ridiculous. Obviously the Cowher aura has fully worn off this team.

Looks like a bunch of Patricks out there....

Wow, what a pathetic effort on the Steelers part yet again. What is worse, winning only 1 game or losing to a team that only has 1 win??

I think Tomlin needs to quit talking about unleashing hell, cause no one is listening, that is for sure....

I guess I dont understand no sense of urgency in the ENTIRE 2nd half, unbelievable!!

Which team is better now, the team after the 2005 Super Bowl, or this team?

The Browns were doing the same thing all night long on defense. Where are the adjustments? We are continually trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. I never thought I'd see the day the Browns would be us without scoring a single point in an entire half of football. This team had one foot out the door after last week and it was obvious.

Like it matters now. We SUCK as a team!!!!

Arians outcoached again.

Wasted effort by the defense, at least they showed up.

Say SO LONG TO MIKE TOMLIN AND HIS COACHING STAFF !!! Lets just blow this thing up and start over. This clown just plain sucks.and so does our secondary they look like a bunch of guys trying to be on dancing with the stars.. to 1-11 browns...

i know people use hyperbole a lot, particularly online, but do any of you actually believe a head coach who won the super bowl a few months ago is in any danger of losing his job?

really?

you can't actually think that's a possibility right?

on a team that's had 3 coaches in the last 40 years?

anyway, can we talk about next year now? i've only looked at a couple draft power rankings but neither had more than one CB as first round talent. wexell even said on his twitter that it's a weak year for corners.

I like how anonymous dipshit makes a comment about me, but in the same post criticizes Tomlin. Hey dude read my posts from months ago. I've been harping on Tomlin last year.

And you probably called me an idiot then for that. Just like the clown who would never give up on me saying the D wasn't playing as good as last year.

But you're probably the same poster.

"all year" I meant

A learning experience year for Tomlin for sure. It's been clear to me for awhile that the "Ben-centric" offense isn't the answer. You simply cannot have an unstructured offense built around a qb's ability to run around and chuck the ball downfield.

It seems Tomlin has been reluctant to rein in either BA or BR, but now he should realize it's something he needs to do. It appears the OL is constantly confused because they have no idea where their qb is or where to drive their man. Zerlien's coaching emphasizes style and technique over just getting a hat on a hat - the exact opposite of what Grimm preached. That's fine for a pocket passer or structured offense, but not sp good for a "street ball" type qb. All year the offense has looked like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

There definitely need to be ass't coaching changes in the offseason.

so much could be said, but i've been saying it all year.

arians is out. he sealed his fate last night.

Was it me or did it look like Ben was having trouble seeing open receivers last night? Mostly the dump off guy. He was terrible last night. No accuracy, no vision. Lingering Concussion symptoms or too freaking cold to think? or a combination. I'm worried about him and the concussions. He can't take many more before it's time to call it a career. (remember that one of them was the motorcycle crash)

Other than Holmes and Mendenhall, everyone else looked like they were moving in Molasses.

The problem is BA and BR are pretty much joined at the hip. BR loves BA because BA lets him do what he wants. While I'd like to see BA gone, too, the Rooneys do have a 102M investment in BR to consider.

Personally, I believe BR is a big part of the offense's (and team's) problems, but I'm not sure how much control any coach really has over him because of the "franchise qb" contract he was given. I think the only people who can tell BR there will be changes and make it stick are Art II and Dan Rooney. I think the only way Tomlin could get control of BR is if Dan and Art II publicly come out 100% behind Tomlin.

Dale, you need a new poll for record down the stretch. Forget that. Patrick why don't you educate us?

Dale,

When was the last time you remember a Stiller team come out and just be flat this many games in a row?? I would have to go back to the 80's.

Is it too early to begin talking about the draft next April?

Steve said...

Can you draft an OC?

Steelers first pick they take Gary Kubiak!

Kubiak to Ben: Please read a defense Ben.

Ben: no.

Tomlin: Ok.
