Redman to get more carries

I spoke with Isaac Redman. He told me he'll be getting the carries in the last five minutes of games to help ease the load on Rashard Mendenhall.

You can read my story in Friday's O-R to see more about it.

© As expected, James Harrison returned to practice today.

Retirement avoided.

© I learned Wednesday that Ziggy Hood suffered a sprained ankle early in the season that has limited his play.

Interesting news about Ziggy. Is he 100% now or is he still on the mend?

that differs from my source. hes supposed to be 74.3654%

Not sure I get the logic of having Redman tote the rock only in the last 5 minutes of the game. It would make more sense to give him carries distributed throughout the game.

agree with adamg

heres me jinxing Redman:

he'll fumble in the last 5 minutes of a close game.

GOOD! Mendenhall should be fresh for later in the season. I guess tomlin just wanted to see redman step up

ziggy hurt ankle? sounds like timmons last year, which bothered him all year. Yeah, that was a high ankle sprain but still

Dale, Thanks for info on Hood. I was very much wondering why we haven't heard his name called much so far after all the rave reviews from camp.

Hood said he's feeling much better now. Nick Eason will probably start, though.

They'll have him in late with the lead because that's when opponents will be loading up to stop the run. That's when you take more and bigger hits.

Is Chris Scott practicing with the team now? If so, is there any indication as to whether he will play guard or tackle?

good question. I've heard of almost all PUP players this week, but nothing on scott. and that question on being G or OT remains to be seen

Id like to think they never put him on IR for a reason....

Dale, understand that late in a game when the Steelers have a lead, giving Redman the ball will save wear and tear on Mendenhall. Just would like to see Mendenhall get a blow during the the game, not just at the end. Plus, if you're the feature RB, don't you want to be out there to close out the game?

Quite frankly, didn't notice Scott. Wasn't looking for him.
I can't imagine, however, that they'll do anything other than place him on IR at this point. He missed all of training camp and the preseason.

Isaac Redman cannot be jinxed.

Stabbing an Isaac Redman voodoo doll with a pin only tickles him and makes him run even more evasively.

Also later that night, in retaliation, the Isaac Redman doll will craft an even smaller voodoo doll in the likeness of the person who stabbed it. The minature doll will be dressed in a Ray Lewis jersey, and the Isaac Redman doll will proceed to run over it like a herd of elephants.
