Wednesday news

Heath Miller made it through both days of practice this week and is good to go Thursday night against Cincinnati.

Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said, however, they expect Miller to probably tweak the ankle here or there - nothing serious - and to be limited to about 75 percent of the offensive plays.

If you've ever had a badly sprained ankle before, you know how easy it is to turn it again doing the most simple of things. But the pain goes away pretty quickly.

It kind of gives you an idea, however, of how serious they're taking this game.

The Steelers could allow Miller another week off to rest the ankle and get it ready for the game at New England. But they're going to put him on the field at less than 100 percent this week because they need this win against the Bengals.

Miller likely can't do any more damage to the ankle, but the Steelers need him to make their offense go.

The Bungles have played better lately. I have a feeling this game will be closer than most think.

Stid,
It's a AFC North game. They are always close. I don't think they have the man power to hold our "D" to be able to go long on us. So that's a major +. The only real problem that I see in this game is special teams with regards to the Bungles return game and our punting game. Starting field pos. should be key in this game.

I have a hard time thinking it's going to be close. The bengals are absolutely a wreck right now with their injury situation.

The only way we blow this game is if we don't put up any points, and that couldn't happen...could it?

The Bengals couldn't put up 13 points in 5 quarters with the Eagles. They are playing better lately, but they have no offense without Palmer and their D certaintly doesn't scare me. Steelers D should dominate this game.

Key to the games for me are don't turn the ball over and play great D. Of course running the ball would decrease the chance of interceptions and eat up clock, but Ben has thrown 82 times in the past 2 games with a bad shoulder. What's he going to do this week, throw it 75 times?

I joke, but the lack of runs worries me. Hopefully that changes this week with a lot of touches for Russell in close out time.

A big win this week and relaxing before the stretch into the playoffs would be huge. Even though its awile away, a bye week before the playoffs would be much needed for this time.

They'll run the ball against the Bengals to be sure.
I'm taking the Steelers, 27-10.

Dale, I hope you're right. A steady dose of RB's could wear down a Bengals D easily and save our D and other O guys legs for week.

Just a fun comment for once, always appreciate the blog and keep up the good work, even if we differ from time to time (go Brad Johnson)

Bengals announced that Ocho Cinco has been deactivated tonight. One less target (if you can call him that anymore) for the Bengals.

I wonder if Ike moves over to TJ if in fact the plan was to have him cover Chad?

We'll know soon enough. Anyone in the Burgh have a weather update?

I would guess they'll shadow TJ with Ike. The weather is cold with snow expected at some point.
