Rooney to hold PC

Art Rooney II will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. today, becoming the first Steelers front office person to "officially" field questions about the Ben Roethlisberger situation.

I would fully expect that if the Steelers are going to suspend Roethlisberger - which is likely - it will be announced today.

Any thoughts as to why Adam Schefter thinks differently? He seems to believe no suspension will be announced today.

with the lack of official charges in both cases, this is more about perception than anything else. that's why the opinions regarding #7 vary from one end of the spectrum to the other.

based on that, i bet the player's union is weighing in pretty heavily right now that #7 should get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. not to mention the CBA problems, this may have ramifications in the negotiating process.

personally, i disagree with that notion. i believe if an owner does not like something their employee is doing they have the right to suspend the employee at any time. especially if their actions create significantly negative publicity. but that's just me.

The entire GBI investigative file was released today, and it just makes BR and his entourage, which included 2 off duty cops, look worse than ever.

So will Willie Colon be getting suspended too? He was right there with the rest of the entourage.
