Three Steelers earn Pro Bowl honors

Three Steelers were named to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday, including rookie center Maurkice Pouncey.

Pouncey was named to the team as a backup to starter Nick Mangold of the Jets.

Also making the team for Pittsburgh were strong safety Troy Polamalu and outside linebacker James Harrison.

Both have been selected to the Pro Bowl in previous seasons.

Wallace must be the first alternate at WR. Too bad he didn't make the cut. I wouldn't be surprised if Hampton and Timmons are high on the alternate list too.

Congrats to Pouncey, Polamalu and Harrison! All 3 are deserving of the honor, however I can't help but feel for Lawrence Timmons and Mike Wallace. Both guys are difference makers and a big reason for the Steeler's successful run to the playoffs. I guess that's just the nature of the beast.

It's tough to make the cut at WR. You could make an arguement that he's been better than Brandon Lloyd, but Wayne, Johnson and Bowe have been pretty damn good,

ILB is Ray Lewis and somebody else each year. This year it was Mayo, even though New England's defense doesn't really stop anybody.

The real snub here is Woodley not making it, not Wallace.

woodley's season has been really subpar. Suggs has been playing way better than him

I'm really not shocked about pouncey, his name has been heard and he is going the way the players he is backing up in the probowl

kid's gonna be a star

what bothers me about Ray Lewis making it every year is he hasn't been a top ten ILB in over 5 years. He makes like two splash plays on national tv (usually a fluky interception and a "doing his job" fill the gap tackle for a loss) and then does his typical jump on the pile tackle theft. Then he makes the pro bowl. And when he gets put in the hall in his first year they'll mention his 70 pro bowls as evidence of how good he was. He was good. He hasn't been that good in half a decade.

He's really fat though, looks like Big Snack and has his own ads like Polamalu. Bowe has had a good season but I have never seen a WR drop as many passes as he has, and I am not talking about last season I am talking about this season. OK I have seen another player do that, Braylon Edwards.
